A threat? I'm not responding because of your threat. I've seen this situation with a few of my ASRock boards, to varying degrees. Very curious, I checked all kinds of things, never found anything obvious. Then I found it, at least what was causing it on my PCs. It's the mouse. More specifically, certain mouse models. Nothing fancy, usually a Microsoft mouse, but not all models. Wireless mouse models seem to be more likely to do this. That is the kind I use. What model of mouse do you use? We can wake the PC from "suspension" (Sleep) with the mouse, right? Normally either a click of a mouse button or moving the mouse is the trigger to wake from Sleep. Those actions on the mouse cause a signal to be sent to the board, which triggers waking from Sleep, when in Sleep mode. Some mice seem to be ultra sensitive, the slightest vibration in the same surface that the mouse is on causes the mouse to send a signal. That might be related to its configuration, how fast the mouse pointer moves for a given movement of the mouse. This happens with current models of Microsoft mouse models, like the mouse included with a MS Sculpt Comfort Keyboard. I'll click on Sleep, and quickly put the power switch on the mouse to its off position. The PC no longer wakes from Sleep, until I turn the mouse power on again. Try this for yourself. Don't forget to experiment with the sensitivity of the mouse movement. Can the board or USB ports be related to this problem? Possibly, but I have not found anything that is related to the board. Z170 and other Intel 100 series chipsets now only seem to use the USB 3.0 driver (XHCI), even for the USB 2.0 ports. Which is why when using Windows 7 with Intel 100 series chipset boards, a USB 3.0 driver must be included in the Windows 7 installation media, or the USB ports will not work. It is possible that this is related to this situation. I use Windows 10 on almost all of my PCs. Would I be surprised if this is related to Windows 10? No. |

Windows keep saying an unknown device wake up the system just after I suspended.
Lol I doubt Ill be able to solve this problem, but at least I have another confermation that this is a common problem with Asrock mb. Edited by Nemo1985 - 25 Jun 2016 at 1:20am |

Every ASRock board I've had does this no matter what is disabled/set in the UEFI and I've tried everything, it's definitely an intrinsic problem with ASRock boards. They need a global setting in the UEFI that reads
"OFF IS OFF!!: Enabled" that overrides every single power on condition except pressing the button. If you find a solution to this, then you're a better man than I. (but I'd love to know)

Good morning, I'm having the following issue with my new mb.
Every time I try to suspend (or hibernate) my pc it wakes up just a second later, I disabled any wake up voice from uefi, I disabled the wake up from keyboard, mouse and network card, I thought the culprit was Windows 10 so I tried Ubuntu but it happens the same thing. I tried to restore the default uefi settings, nothing changed, i'm using the last uefi version. The event viewer on windows says the system has been awaken from an unknown device, what is very weird is that it happens just the first time I suspend my pc... I turn on the system, use it for some time and then I suspend it, it wakes up a second later and take me back on windows screen, I suspend it again and it stay so... This is really weird, I read that i'm not the only one with suspend issues, is there any way to resolve this issue? |
