Your question may seem simple, but if the answer was simple, it might have been answered by now. Right now, the answer is no. AMD has just recently provided the necessary support for NVMe PCIe SSDs for a few of their boards/chipsets. So far, that seems to be only for AM3+ boards. Mother board manufactures do not create the Option ROMs necessary to support NVMe SSDs, they can only pass on what is made available to them from the processor/chipset manufacture. What are the chances that NVMe and NVMe boot support will be provided, even if it is possible, on a low-end platform and board like this one? I doubt it, sorry to say, but that is up to AMD. Your board's PCIe slot is PCIe 2.0 x4. The 950 Pro requires PCIe 3.0 x4 for full performance. While M.2 to PCIe adapters work, priority for NMVe support is usually given to boards that have M.2 slots. How to check in the future if NVMe support is added: Check the BIOS/UEFI list for a new version that includes NVMe support. This is the only way to tell for boards that did not have NVMe support from their introduction. Check the Specifications, in the Storage section, for NVMe support. |

Hello
I have a simple question to ask :) Does the AM1B-ITX support NVMe boot from a PCIe SSD? (Samsung M.2 SSD installed on a PCIe x4 adapter) Thank you |
