I still have the original bios P1.30 on the board.  Do I need to upgrade to 2.30.   Also I remember in the past when I was thinking of upgrading the bios, there was an upgrade path 2.10 to 2.20 then to 2.30.  Can I go straight to 2.3 or am I screwed since ASRoack has taken town the older bios and the installation files.

Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

If you check the date of the 2.30 UEFI version, it is 7/5/2012. That is long before Windows 10 existed. So that UEFI version will do nothing to support Windows 10 specifically.

You won't find any ASRock UEFI/BIOS updates that includes "Add Windows 10 support". Some people on the Internet claim a BIOS update fixed their problems with Windows 10, but they really did not know what actually happened. We have no idea how old the BIOS version they used was.

The 2.10 UEFI is the Sandy to Ivy Bridge compatibility update. Along with that is an update to the IME software and Intel video driver. The 2.30 UEFI will also contain the changes in 2.10, there is no skipping of the Ivy Bridge updates possible.

If you decide to update to 2.30, the only way is via Instant Flash (thank Gawd!!)

If you do this update, be VERY SURE to leave the USB flash drive in the USB 2.0 port on the IO panel until the PC boots completely into Windows after the 2.30 update.

If you don't, you will have botched the update.
