    Posted: 16 Mar 2021 at 7:06pm
Hi all!
Currently I have i5-2500K overclocked to 4.5GHz + Win7 x64 + 1.90 BIOS. Everything works fine and stable as_rock :)
I tried to install Win10 20H2 from scratch (not update) and faced with "kmode exception" on installation phase.
I seems that I need to update to latest BIOS.
I heard that latest 3.19 has no ability to overclock CPUs. Is that correct£
Is there any BIOS that allows CPU overclock and Win10 20H2 installation simultaneously£
Thanks in advance!

P67EXT43.19
is the file that you need for instant flash. Flashing in windows is a bad idea, Windows updater kicked in and you got a bricked MB.

I found a instant flash rom from mdclab, they also provide a modded version that have NVME boot support
https://www.mdclab.it/intel-socket-1155-p67-extreme-4.html
If that link doesn't work anymore use this

Yea, you can pass on the AXTU but I'd at least DL it and mark the directory as such.

Intel ME, Windows 10 version, absolutely!

And remember, there's no going below BIOS 3.10 afterwards.

Keep us posted.

Thanks!

I assume AXTU is not actually required? It's just a software for tweaking stuff, but if I don't want it I don't need to install it?

About Intel ME, that required version is for win xp/vista/7, do I install that on windows 10, or do I rather download the win10 version from asrock site?

From the BIOS Download page from your MB:

Click here to download required AXTU
Click here to download required Intel ME
* After updating this BIOS, please flash newer versions only.

Get another harddrive....clone your drive onto it. remove it and put it aside. Now on the original disk, roll it back to win7 and do the win flash. After you have ascertained all is well, wipe the drive and clone from your clone.
PITA? Sure is...but it'll work.
