You have two questions, and some details about your RAID 0 usage are missing. All ASRock X99 boards support PCIe NVMe SSDs, which can be used as the OS/boot drive. The OCZ RD400 NVMe SSD will work with the X99 Taichi board, and can be used as the OS/boot drive. If you plan on using Windows 7, you will need to load the OCZ NVMe driver during the OS installation, since Windows 7 does not have an inbox NVMe driver. Regarding RAID, there is the Intel IRST RAID, and Windows RAID. You are probably asking about the Intel IRST RAID. X99 chipset boards do not support IRST RAID for non-SATA drives. The RD400 is a PCIe NVMe SSD, so is not supported in IRST RAID. Only Intel 100 series chipset boards, such as Z170, support PCIe NVME SSDs in RAID. Windows RAID should work with two PCIe NVMe SSDs, but they cannot be used as the OS/boot drive. In order to use two PCIe NVMe SSDs in the M.2 slots with this board, you must use a Haswell-E or Broadwell-E processor that has more than 28 PCIe 3.0 lanes. That means the i7-5820K and i7-6800K processors do not support both of the Ultra M.2 slots with PCIe NVMe SSDs. If you have the version of the RD400 that has the PCIe adapter card, then the M.2 slot limitation does not apply, but you would still need to balance the PCIe lane usage with your video card usage, single card or SLI/XFire. That also depends upon the processor you are using, some have 28 PCIe 3.0 lanes, others have 40. The lack of IRST RAID 0 support does not change when using PCIe NVMe SSDs in PCIe adapter cards. |

I want to use a pair of these in the M.2 slots, X99 Taichi mobo.. Wish to RAID0 them. Will this OCZ product work with the Taichi? Support QVL lists only SATA SSD drives. ty
