   I've never seen a post in this forum about what you are describing with any ASRock Z170 board. But POST time can vary quite a bit depending upon the hardware used in a PC, and the situation before the POST process.

I've know that PCIe SSDs, whether NVMe or AHCI, slow down POST. If you disabled MRC Fast Boot in the DRAM configuration screen, that would increase POST time.

Please explain what you mean by the POST time? I know what I would call it, I'm curious about your definition.

Have you tried clearing the UEFI/BIOS, and applying your OC settings again?

POST varies in length from a cold boot, or startup from a shutdown, or from a Windows restart or Save and Exit from the UEFI, IF the PC does not shutdown after applying a CPU or memory OC. My Z170 board will shutdown and start again when trying various memory over clocks, or setting CPU over clocks.

POST from a cold boot/start is the longest. POST on a restart from the UEFI that does not shutdown the PC are shorter. Using the Fast or Ultra Fast Fast Boot options actually decrease POST time, not the actual OS boot time. Using UEFI booting OS installation can boot faster, but only with standard SATA SSDs, PCIe SSDs are slow to POST.

	I'm experiencing very slow POST times (15-20 seconds) after applying an overclock of 4.4 GHz on my i7 6700k on the ASRock Fatal1ty Z170 Gaming ITX/ac motherboard. On stock speed, the POST is really quick (under 5 seconds). Out of curiosity, I even underclocked the CPU to 3.6 GHz and it still resulted in really slow POST times. It seems that if I change the clock multiplier to anything other than stock, it results in really slow POST times. After the POST, the boot to Windows is really quick. CPU temperatures are within normal limits (under 85C on load) with the overclock. The system has been stable as well. I've also tried enabling/disabling XMP profile on the RAM, but this seems to make no difference. Any clues on what could be causing such a delay in POST? Here are the full system specs: Motherboard: ASRock Fatal1ty Z170 Gaming ITX/ac BIOS version: P2.10 CPU: Intel Core i7 6700K RAM: 2 x 16 GB G.Skill Aegis @ 2400 MHz Storage: 500 GB Samsung 850 Evo M.2 SSD Graphics Card: MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X PSU: Corsair SF450 Overclock settings: Clock multiplier: 44 Min cache ratio: 44 Max cache ratio: 44 Base clock: 100 MHz Underclock settings: Clock multiplier: 36 Min cache ratio: 36 Max cache ratio: 36 Base clock: 100 MHz Other changed settings from stock: - Fast boot turned on (toggling this made no difference in POST times) - CPU fan profile set to performance mode
