There are two ASRock X99X boards, the Fatal1ty X99X Killer and Fatal1ty X99X Killer/3.1. The only one that currently has a 2.10 UEFI version is the Fatal1ty X99X Killer. You mentioned the 3.00 UEFI version, but both of these boards have a 3.10 version now. That does not include the Beta UEFI versions, so hard to guess which board you have. No, this is not a known issue with any ASRock X99 board. When the ASRock logo is displayed, Windows is booting. So that could mean the OS drive is having problems, or the Windows 10 installation is possibly corrupted. Since a reset seems to fix the problem, that tends to point to the OS drive being the problem, or possibly the power to the OS drive. How long have you been using the 2.10 UEFI? If that version was the problem, did the problem start when you installed it? Since the problem is intermittent, and has become more common recently, how would one UEFI version, assuming the same option settings, cause the behavior you experience? You could always try a newer UEFI version. The 3.00 version adds support for Broadwell-E processors, do you use one? We have zero system details. What are you using for the OS drive? Do you have the Fast Boot option set to Fast? What is the SATA mode set to for each of the two Intel SATA controllers on your board? Which one are you using, the main or secondary SATA controller? M.2 SSDs can be SATA, PCIe AHCI, and PCIe NVMe. So just saying the drive was M.2 does not give use enough information. The PCIe M.2 SSDs require a specific but simple UEFI option setting to be bootable, and PCIe NVMe SSDs require a UEFI with NVMe support. They also require the Windows installation media to be selected correctly in the Boot screen, using the UEFI prefix entry. I've used both M.2 and PCIe slot AIC NVMe SSDs in my X99 board as the OS drive, they work fine. |

Check and or replace your CMOS battery. To me it seems too early to need replacing, but ........

I am running an X99X system that has been stable for almost a year, but lately I noticed it sometimes hangs at the ASROCK Logo and I have to reset it to get a boot into W10. I saw this only once a few months ago but now it happens a couple of times a week and is becoming irritating.
I am running P2.10 bios. Is this a known issue? Should I try 3.0? It is so intermittent that it will be hard to troubleshoot, but if anyone has helpful suggestions, please pass them on. I am running with no overclocking or aggressive memory settings. I had trouble with the system build and install of the M.2 main drive last year and lost all appetite for extreme performance and was transformed into a stability guy. thanks for any help! Frank |
