I am before purchase still. I would like to know whether this pairing works with two monitors by iGPU? (One by hdmi, one by USB4)
X670E Taichi + Ryzen 9 7950X3D I don't intend to use dedicated video card at the moment. Thanks in advance. |

Prior to Ryzen 7000 only CPUs with a "G" designation typically had an "iGPU".
This simply means the CPU has a built in GPU. Since Ryzen 7000 however, unless stated otherwise, an iGPU is always included. Embedded is just another way of saying built in. The motherboard can't leverage your dedicated GPU and feed it through the USB-C ports so it needs to rely on the one built into the CPU. The OS (windows) however should be able to pass your dedicated GPU through the iGPU (embedded GPU) when running games etc though so it really isn't important unless you have a CPU without an iGPU. I believe only 7000 series CPUs who's names end in "H" and "HS" do not include a functional iGPU. So yes, your 7950x3d should be able to handle a USB4 Type-C display. Dear Support,
My question is about the specifications of X670E Taichi motherboard, where I see: "Only the CPU's embedded graphics can be displayed through USB4 ports. If you want to display to a Type-C monitor, please use AM5 Ryzen 7000 processors with embedded graphics." So, what does embedded graphics means, in this context? Is it something else than "normal" graphics? Can I use it with Ryzen 7950X3D, with my LG 34UM69G-B monitor, similarly like using HDMI? Display mode 2560x1080, 75 Hz. Would it work? OS: Windows 10 64-bit. Thanks in advance, Andras |
