Your memory is listed as compatible with your board according to G.SKILL. Check the QVL list for ASRock Z170 boards, here: http://www.gskill.com/en/product/f4-2666c15q-32grr But any DDR4 memory is not guaranteed to work in any system that uses DDR4 memory. The same is true for DDR3 memory. There are other models of RipJaws4 memory that does not include Z170/Skylake systems in their compatibility list. There is also DDR4 memory that will work in a Z170 system, but not at the full speed in the specifications. We are working with another Z170 board user in this forum that is using Ripjaws4 DDR4 memory that is not listed as compatible with Z170 systems by G.SKILL. The memory will work at 2133, but not at the full rated speed of 2800. We've been trying to help him get the system to boot with the memory speed set to 2800, but so far we've had no success. Of course a board's Memory Support list will not include every model of memory that is compatible, but if you don't check with the memory manufacture about compatibility, you are depending upon luck if it works. |

It should work just fine, memmorry usually works even if it's not in the compatibility list.

I recently order an Z170 Extreme6 after my last board was DOA. The ram I ordered for that board was G.Skill Ripjaws 4 F4-2666C15Q-32GRR and I'm curious if this ram will work with the board? I didn't see it on the ram support list for this board and I'd like to know before I send the ram back to get something different.
Thank you in advance.
