Hi, "B" type supports M.2 SSD's and "M" type supports NVMe PCIe. Your board supports both.
Edit: When using the M.2, SATA ports 0 and 1 are disconnected. Edited by no1yak - 23 Jan 2017 at 6:42pm |

I'm currently waiting on the arrival of a ASRock Fatality Gaming K6 Z170 motherboard for my new build...
I'm new to the world of M.2 and am a little confused about the type of connection I need to look for i buying an M.2 SSD to go in the Ultra M.2 port... The manual doesn't tell me if I need an M.2 SSD with a M, B or MB connector to go into the Ultra M.2 slot... I'm aware there is an official supported M.2 list but I'm still having a hard time getting my head around it all... From what I gather I want a PCIE M.2 SSD.... I want to know if the Z170 Gaming K6's Ultra M.2 slot can take M , B & MB.or just M or B.... Appreciate any help! |
