Looks like I'm just going to have to buy a new heatsink/fan.
Apparently the only way to lower the speed of a 3 pin fan is to change the voltage supplied to the fan. There is no option for changing it though, so... yeah. Oh well. Off to New Egg.

I only have a 3 pin cpu fan and although it works, the fan is always at 100% speed. Looking the bios and the hardware monitor it states that you can only adjust settings if you have a 4 pin connector.
Will I be stuck at 100% speed until I buy a new heatsink/fan? I can always order a new one for fairly cheap but if I can avoid it I would like to. Thank you! ed. I'm using the default BIOS
