As some other members posted, you might also want to try Ram slot 1 + 3. For some people these slots seem to work better for some reason.

hi, thats really strange. I am running the the TridentZ 2x16 (F4-3200C14D-32GTZ) on the Taichi without problems with BIOS 2.40 & 3.00 . Just load XMP and it runs.
still not getting higher than 2666 on the ram with newer Bios? Do you OC your CPU at the same time? are you using the correct ram slots (2 and 4) ? ram is properly seated? I would recommend: 1. removing and reinstalling the ram 2. reset cmos, load uefi defaults, save&restart. 3. enter bios ,load xmp profile, leave everything else on "auto", save as OC profile if you want, restart. this works fine for me, so i think it SHOULD work for everyone with same ram and board. I dont know how likely it is that the CPU is the problem though. a few times it helped me to slightly increase ram voltage to 1.375v to make the board boot with certain timings. If it does not work i would test each Module on its own in slot A2 |

Some news since I created this topic.
I updated the ASRock X370 to the latest bio at the moment (3.00) and the problem is still the same, still not reaching 3200, manualy or with XMP with my 2x16go GSkill TridentZ CL14 3200 @ 3200 Mhz.
It does not even boot :( |

Ahhh yes. Chasing BIOS releases, BETA or not, isn't all it's "bricked' out to be, is it? I feel for ya. Yet ......... |

Correct, at the moment, 8GB sticks are able to run at 3200, but the 16GB sticks are having issues. You'll just have to wait until UEFI updates are available to support the timings. Don't be like me and get impatient then end up bricking your BIOS. I've been without my PC for 12 days now, with no certain ETA for my motherboard. Sounds like they aren't going to repair it and instead send me a new one.

I do it manualy, XMP never work :)
I put the basic settings of my DDR4 kit : 1.35V, 14-14-14-34 and 3200 but it does not work. I also tried 1.5V, 19-19-19-40 and 2933 but it does not work either. The best I can have is 1.35V, 14-13-13-33 @ 2666Mhz. I've spent many hours trying a lot of thing without success. F4-3200C16D-16GTZR is different, it's a 2x8go kit. Mine is 2x16Go kit. It's the 16Go stick that have problem with ryzen :(

How are you setting the memory settings? Using the XMP profile, but setting the memory speed to 2666? I saw a story about this G.SKILL kit working at 3200: F4-3200C16D-16GTZR [16-18-18-36 @ 1.35v] https://www.techpowerup.com/231518/amd-shares-details-on-ryzen-ddr4-memory-support-and-upcoming-am4-updates The XMP data for your G.SKILL memory and the kit in the link above was designed for Intel Z170 and Z270 systems. That does not mean it will work with a Ryzen system. If your board's UEFI/BIOS has the DRAM Tweaker feature in the DRAM Configuration screen, use that to set the basic timings. Leave the other memory settings on Auto. See it if that works, and move on from there. |

I've received the Taichi, and it does not work :( even with latest BIOS (1.60).
The best I could do with 2x16go GSkill TridentZ CL14 3200 @ 3200 Mhz (F4-3200C14D-32GTZ) is 2666 MHZ. I don't know of Level1Techs do to make it work @ 3200 like they said. I tried to O/C with the BCLK to add more MHZ to the memory but since I have a NVME Samsung 960, at 105 of BCLK it freeze :( To bad, I managed to do nothing I wouldlike to do :(
