I need this too with a J3455 board. I don't understand why they would prevent booting in the first place.

You will need to take it up with Tech Support I'm afraid. 

Short of making an HDMI dongle there is no workaround I am aware of. In server applications I tend to prefer installing a small 4 - 7" HDMI/DVI monitor in the case itself so I don't need to hook up a display if I have issues. These can be picked up pretty cheap these days and save a lot of headaches. But if headless is what you want then try Tech Support.

I have tried everything I know to turn on my rig without a monitor connected. But it won't boot to windows, without the HDMI in the first GFX card connected.

I know this was fixed with a BIOS update on the H81 PRO BTC mobo, but R2.0 has not had a BIOS update since 2014. I cannot understand why a revision is more obsolete than the original.

Does anyone know any workaround apart from making false hdmi dongles? This should be fixed with a BIOS update.
