SATA (Serial ATA) and NVMe (PCIe) are completely different protocols.
m.2 (physical interface) can support one, the other, or both. B450 Steel Legend : - 1 x M.2 Socket (M2_2), supports M Key type 2230/2242/2260/2280/22110 M.2 SATA3 6.0 Gb/s module and M.2 PCI Express module up to Gen3 x2 (16 Gb/s)** B450M Steel Legend : 1 x M.2 Socket (M2_2), supports M Key type 2230/2242/2260/2280 M.2 SATA3 6.0 Gb/s module As you can see, B450M version does NOT support NVMe drive on the second slot, as the PCIe wires aren't even connected to that m.2 slot. |

motherboard model: Steel legend B450M
I just bought a new nvme ssd to insert it in the sata m.2 port of the motherboard. but it doesn't detect the ssd. As I have used steel legend B450 before and the nvme ssd did support on the sata m.2 slot, I expected that it will also support for B450M version. can you please give me a modified bios with the option "Force m.2 to support PCI-E device"? Thanks |
