SR-IOV is a hardware "layer" that allow a single device to "belong' to each VM

Hi,
I have a x99 Taichi motherboard and I want to add some virtual machines for development and testing. For this I use now VirtualBox.
What are the best settings in the UEFI bios and which one should I check in VirtualBox to get the best performance.
For example in virtual box I can choose between the chipset PIIX3 and ICH9. Also there is an option to enable PAE/NX in virtual box, but I don't think I need that. Or is this dependent on the 'Above 4G decoding in the UEFI?
In the UEFI VT-x is enable by default, and it is also enabled in Virtual Box. so that is Ok.
But what do i have to do with the option SR-IOV Support in compare with Virtual Box?
Thanks for any advice.
Br,
