hey, thanks for the quick answer^^ that's right, on my Asus Formula V Maximus i disabled the onboard sound and wifi in the bios and the hardware never showed up under win10! according to my ammeter, disabling the devices under device manager doesn't make any difference. update: after a cmos-clear, the (still disabled in bios) audio device disappeared in device manager^^ |

So you were able to disable similar devices on your Intel boards in the BIOS, with Windows 10, and the devices were ignored for driver installation? If you disable those devices in Device Manager, is there any difference? It might be a UEFI/BIOS bug, I'll check what happens disabling those devices in my ASRock X370 Killer SLI/ac board. |

hey folks, i can't disable my onboard devices like the audio chip, the wifi and bluetooth chip and so on!
after disabling them in the bios, win10 still recognize the hardware and installs or demands drivers is this a bug? because i don't need their functionality, i want to disable them (like on all my previous (intel)mainboards) for power saving reasons^^ the other thing that bothers me, is the (poor?) M.2 performance! i installed a fresh win10 on a samsung evo 960, but it doesn't feel any faster or smoother like my old system on a samsung 850 evo... the evo 960's 4k and 4k-32 benchmarks aren't better than my old 850 evo :( can this be fixed with an upcoming bios update? thanks Edited by Subzero - 11 May 2017 at 10:33pm |
