Hello
I recently put together a PC with the following specs CPU: ryzen 1600x motherboard: X370 Taichi ram: Corsair Vengeance lpx 3200 cmk16gx4m2b3200c16 ver 5.39 hynix Graphics card: Galax 1050ti EXOC SSD: Samsung evo 850 500gb SATA HDD: WD Blue 2tb 5400rpm PSU: Corsair hx750 OS: Windows 10 Pro The motherboard came with bios v1.50 and the first thing that I did after assembling the PC was to instant flash using a USB via the bios to v2.40. 1) Enabling the XMP profile and slightly down-clocking to 2933mhz seems stable. If I keep it at its rated 3200mhz it will not boot unless I increase the voltage from 1.35v to 1.36v and increase the tRC from 54 to 75. With these settings everything works but I get errors in Memtest86. This is the first time I am overclocking so I would like to know if it safe for me to increase the voltages of my RAM even higher than 1.36v and what else would need to be increased if I do that? 2) On stock settings, My processor was regularly boosting at idle to 4.1ghz and voltage was spiking over 1.52v. Will this shorten the life of the CPU? I disabled core performance boost in the UEFI so now I am at 3.6 GHz permanently. 3)What is the difference between CPU Voltage (V) under CPU Configuration and CPU VCore voltage under Voltage configuration in the UEFI. 4) I cant seem to do any manual overclocking. I would at least like to get to 3.9ghz but if i change the settings from auto to manual, irrespective of what I input, I end up with 2.2ghz. I have the OEM specific drivers from the Asrock site as well as the latest AMD chipset drivers. I tried disabling Cool n Quiet and c6 states. Windows in fully up to date and running on the Ryzen Balanced plan. In the UEFI it will say 3800 or 3900mhz but in windows all the monitoring software reports 2.2ghz. Using Ryzen Master, HWInfo64, Aida64, HWmonitor, CPU-Z. Cinebench scores are 600 to 700 so it really is running at 2.2ghz. Any help would be greatly appreciated |
