Fatal1ty X370 Gaming X has more cheap VRM based on ISL95712 instead of K4 have IR35201 like top motherboards.
IMHO overclock will be limited by controller, like on all other more cheap motherboards.

no worries, i know i dont need that much for 3200, this was more a test to see what values i get when i enter 1.4v. This was more to point out the displayed "DRAM VOLTAGE" is not right ;)
The SoC is unchanged because the Gaming X does only allow an increase to the SOC voltage and i do not need that for 3200 as it is at 1.1v on auto when using XMP.
That is one of the limitations that have been introduced with the X.
I think i will return the board it as it is a step back looking at the bios options, and i dont want to wait to see if it gets better or not :/

As the "VTT_DDR" is displayed correctly (1/2 of the dram voltage) and my kit runs @3200 with "1.25v" (displayed volatge) i suspect the problem affects only the displayed dram voltage and not the actual voltage for the dram. The questions is how there can be a -0.1v offset on the displayed dram voltage.

The 1.300 displayed on the left of the line DRAM Voltage is is is... hmmm, suggested. Or ... What it will attempt using if YOU didn't override it by entering a value on the right. What YOU set on the right, 1.400 IS the voltage used.

Make sense?

Gasp ......You shouldn't need that much v''s on that mem. Well, maybe. What MHz it running to need 1.400 vDIMM/0.700 VTT?

What are you running for CnQ, C states, Windows Power Plan, memory timings, GearDown, procODT and CLDO_VDDP ??? Latest 17.10 chipset drivers from AMD?

Why is SoC Voltage left unchanged in that pic too?

Ok, i really hope that LLC and other options are coming a little later, cause HQ components sounds nice but without LLC i need higher CPU voltage to reach the same clock as on the X370 Gaming K4.
To compensate the droop (in my case) now 1.35V on the X vs 1.30V on the K4 for 3.9Ghz are needed.
So although the X performs quite good already (thanks to the better components maybe) there is a well noticeable CPU voltage droop (~0.05V) .
Also on the K4 reducing the SOC voltage helped reducing CPU heat, in my case it also helped stabilizing the system at some point. On the other Hand the X seems to get on with higher SOC better than the K4.

edit:

Another Thing i noticed is that when using default CPU voltage & core settings the vcore a maximum of 1.44V in certain conditions. I Think this is the case when 1 core boosts to 3.9Ghz but not 100% sure about that. That seems to be a little too much in my eyes.
Under full load  (eg Prime95) the voltage is at ~1.2V .

We have been in contact with ASRock on this issue and were informed that the lack of LLC is due to a change in the power delivery hardware on the newer boards. These new components are higher quality and less subject to voltage droop and as such do not support LLC settings.

Not a direct quote, I would need to go through my mail for that but that is the gist of it.

As for the limited settings, that makes sense given what we have been told. With new components in the power system ASRock will want to carefully test these components before opening up the options to the end user. My guess is that the available settings have all been thoroughly tested an deemed safe. I am sure in subsequent UEFI updates we will see more options appear. This is speculation on my part but it does make a certain amount of sense.

I can understand that, i had just hoped to possibly get some information about planed Bios changes here.
I used the form to contact ASRock before posting here but am still waiting for an answer.

We Moderators cannot help with issues such as this. I'm sorry. These types are above our pay grades.

Please us the form located at http://event.asrock.com/tsd.asp to "speak' directly with Technical Support personnel.

As i am not very happy with the X370 Gaming K4 and its Ram OC and possibly going EOL (is it? statement from ASRock plz! ) i purchased a X370 Gaming X aswell to compare the two Boards.

I thought the Boards would be kinda identical concerning BIOS options, but they are not.

-The Gaming X is lacking LLC (CPU+SOC)
-Voltage can only be set to Offset mode
-Only fixed Offset Voltages can be selected from a list
-For CPU a max neagtive value of -100mv is possible
-SOC can only be increased, no negative Values possible

This is ridiculous, i mean this is a X370 board and i would expect those options an a baord with the X370.

Also i noticed a problem with RAM Voltage. When i load the XMP profile the volatge should be set to 1.35V for my RAM. But somehow the Board sets 1.25V .
If i manually increase to 1.4V it shows 1.3V in the BIOS and HWInfo.
This seems to be a Bug.

I used Bios Version 1.10
