My ASRock PG Lightning 670E with 7700X & 5.0 NVMe with the latest BIOS runs flawlessly in Windows 11 until I plug in the Portable Samsung T7 USB 3.2 Gen 1 2TB SSD. It seems to slow down under heavy loads. I tried it in multiple slots. The drive has the latest firmware. It isn't overheating, and the drive runs well at times. It is formatted in exFAT so I can run it across operating systems. No errors reported through Samsung Magician Software. The lag it causes doesn't affect the files but makes Windows 11 lag at times. It goes from flawlessly to maybe 85-90% when in use. It is mostly a problem when trying to access the drive. My portable WD HDD 5TB does not have this issue despite being a 5400RPM HDD. I cannot format it NTFS because I need it to run across Linux and MacOS. Should I use a portable internal NVMe drive in an enclosure? Is this a driver issue?
