Im confused with your solution...Im having the same issue as him. I can OC as long as vcore is set to auto or below a certain V. I had a stable 3.8ghz @ 1.3v but now anything above 3.45ghz which is the highest I can go on auto I get reverted back to 1.55ghz. My bios shows the correct speed but every other test/program shows 1.55ghz. There is something in your bois that is throttling it down.

Dear ily9452so, Greetings, this is ASRock TSD. We install the same system configuration to perform the test. [Config.] BIOS: P2.40 CPU: Ryzen 1700 OS: Windows 10 64-bit When overclocking the CPU to 3.2GHz and setting the Fixed Voltage at 1.2V. The BIOS could display the correct frequency, and so does CPU-Z. Please refer to the test results: X370 Taichi BIOS P2.40: CPU 3.2GHz and 1.2 Fixed Voltage: CPU-Z Core Speed 3199.25MHz: So we provide the following steps for verifying. 1. Please enter the BIOS setup then press [F9] to load BIOS default setting. 2. Set up the CPU frequency and Fixed voltage. 3. Execute "prime 95" or some loading programs. 4. Download the latest CPU-Z for checking. At last, if the symptom stills the same, please change another CPU to verify. Thanks! All the best, ASRock TSD |

Check online that you have the LATEST versions of monitoring programs.
You lost me when you say you're putting more faith in benchmarks, and not the BIOS. It can't be both, and my money is riding on the BIOS. |

Hi,
I purchased an AsRock Taichi Motherboard today, flashed it to the latest 2.4 bios, installed a new Ryzen 1700 CPU and after testing some minor overclocks, have the following issue. I can overclock if the CPU VCORE voltage is set to auto. If I change this to fixed voltage (it does not matter what the voltage is), the CPU reverts to a locked 15.5x multiplier, and runs at 1549.64MHz. Windows10 (and BIOS) reports the correct clock speed, however checking in CPU-Z (and performance in benchmarks) confirms that the CPU is running at the lower clock speed. I have reflashed the BIOS multiple times, including reverting to an older BIOS, and the issue remains. Thanks, |
