I've tried both Internet and Instant, both the same result.
The board came from Newegg...and from other quick Googling it looks like this might be a "send it back" problem. |

What are you trying to use to update the UEFI/BIOS, Internet Flash, or Instant Flash?
Do not use Internet Flash, only use Instant Flash in your current situation. If you are using Instant Flash, download the UEFI file again, unzip it and copy it to a FAT32 formatted USB flash drive. I don't know why you are seeing the Evaluation Copy message. Where did you get that board? The A9 POST code is related to checking your drives, but is the last POST procedure, so that code may mean nothing and is just left on the Dr Debug display. |

I'm having huge issues with my new ASRock board coupled with the i7-7800X. It won't boot more than once in a row before it needs a CMOS reset, and I'm unable to load the newest (1.2 or 1.2.1) BIOS firmware. I get a "Secure Flash check fail!"
Then, the boot screen will hang at the POST and I get an error A9. Does the "Evaluation Copy" have anything to do with this? ![]() ![]() Thanks for the help! |
