I'm sure this will get deleted... so your basically here to curtail specific awful motherboard issues,so Asrock doesnt get any bad news... Well guess what, I could care less.. I'm not a kid, I'm 48 years old and work for my money and when I spend $250 on a motherboard I expect it to be a premium motherboard and expect it to work, especially when the memory I'm using is on Asrocks QVL list..., which it might as well be a brick because that memory specifically listed on Asrock qvl list does not work as intended or implied which is false advertising.... And I have taken it up with asrock, thank you.. and if this gets deleted I'll hit every social media outlet known to man and let them know how Asrock motherboards memory compatibility sucks.. |

I've used my FlareX F4-3200C14D-16GFX memory in my ASRock X370 Killer SLI/ac board from the first day I started the board. Cold boots fine. DDR4 prices are ridiculous, but how is that related to any mother board? Consider, a low end, budget B350 chipset board is much more likely to be used by someone that will just buy some decent memory, put it in the board, and never configure it whatsoever. So for those users, a UEFI/BIOS update that will not down clock the new JEDEC 2666 DDR4 memory to 2400 will be good to have, and serves a purpose. For a high end board like the Fatal1ty X370 Professional Gaming, this update won't be as useful to its owners as it will be for owners of budget boards. It will do nothing for your or my memory at all, since its JEDEC speed is 2400. I'm in no hurry to apply this update, it is useless to me personally. |

brucer, Consider yourself Warned now too. Report it to the proper people: https://event.asrock.com/tsd.asp We three are Moderators here. The link above is where you should contact Tech Support. I won't allow it to become a place where people/Users do is continually complain. I, we, appreciate your buying ASRock, yet there is is proper channel to follow if one is looking for results and or answers. Again, that is: https://event.asrock.com/tsd.asp I hope you understand that. I have never given anyone the boot from any Forum I've Moderated. I will not. I refuse to. I much prefer to reason and or point out the proper channels that need followed. I much prefer helping. Not chastising. .. wardog |

instead of warning people maybe you should tell Asrock how their customers are feeling...
Especially when I buy $180 worth of Ryzen specific Flare-x for a $250 ASROCK board and it still wont cold boot... RIDICULOUS!!!!!! |

I could care less actually.. I'm wondering why one memory kit will work in two other much less expensive am4 boards but not in this (the most expensive) expensive premium Asrock board..
I'm complaining about this $250 asrock board of mine and its bios updates and memory compatibility issues that cheaper motherboard manufacturers have already resolved. The most expensive am4 board on the market and it has the less memory compatibility than boards costing less than half..
That inexpensive msi board runs that gskill 3200mhz 16-16-16-36 like its meant to run, and it did it with a simple axmp option and it ran rock solid..
Likely not all of it.. But when you can run the 3200mhz memory in two other much less expensive boards just fine, you would think a motherboard manufacturer charging $200-$250 for a motherboard could run comparable memory that isnt "amd specific" premium priced memory.. It seems like laziness to me..
Having to mess with voltage settings to get it to cold boot..
Well it didnt matter at all with my 16gb kit of gskill ripjawsV 3200mhz 16-16-16-36 memory as it would not boot at all, period, even with the other jedec speeds.. To add, The memory is fine as i used it in two other amd am4 b350 and x370 boards.. I ordered the amd specific flare-x which is completely stupid to me, as I had to order it because Asrock is being lazy with memory compatibility issues on these top end boards.. Asrock even says specifically on the x370 professional gaming web page, and I quote "Supports DDR4 3200+(OC)" It should read "supports some ddr4 3200+(oc)" get my drift... Thank you. Have a nice evening.. adding this in... The issue I have is, I paid $140 for this gskill 3200mhz 16-16-16-36 memory before the prices went up, now I find it odd I have to buy more expensive memory at $180 now for it to work in this most expensive on the market ($250) Asrock x370 board when that same memory would run perfectly fine in a $119 msi b350 board.. I just think Asrock is being lazy with the memory compatibility, is Asrock contracting that bios coding out? Edited by brucer - 22 Sep 2017 at 2:16pm |

lol, My $119 msi b350 gaming pro carbon booted up first try with gskill ripjawsV 3200mhz with axmp profile2. My $250 asrock wont even attempt to boot with it.. I 've orded the $180 flare-x kit :( Hope the flare-x works, i've read good things about it, people also getting 3466 and 3600mhz out of it.. I just want it to boot and be stable at the rated 3200mhz. |

You mean like the OP runs his FlareX memory at 3333? Did you see his signature? Or are you complaining about your own memory? Your example of the MSI board, does that run your memory at 3200 out of the box? Otherwise, what memory does it run at 3200? So you believe that any DDR4 memory in existence will be perfectly Ryzen compatible? What does "barely run 3000mhz memory" mean? What would a UEFI update that will not downclock DDR4 memory whose stock/JEDEC speed is 2666 to 2400 do for you? |
