You will have to wait for ASRock_TSD on this one, Parsec and I do not work for ASRock and so can only speak for things we have personally tested. I know Parsec has a socket 2011 system and a SM951 but I think his is the AHCI model. The AHCI models work fine as boot devices provided the BIOS version supports it. I suspect the NVMe versions should work too but without having one to test I cannot say for certain.

Hi

I have the Fatal1ty X99X Killer, and have checked the storage compatibility page here:
http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Fatal1ty%20X99X%20Killer/?cat=Storage

This lists two variants of Samsung's SM951, specifically the 256 Gb and 512 Gb AHCI versions, MZHPV256HDGL and MZHPV512HDGL.

However it does not list the NVMe version, MZVPV512HDGL, which I am interesting in buying, but only if I will be able to use and boot from it.

I have updated to the 1.90 BIOS, which the BIOS page:
http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Fatal1ty%20X99X%20Killer/?cat=Download&os=BIOS

notes "
Add NVME support".

Please can you confirm if NVMe versions of the Samsung SM951 are compatible?

Thanks

EDIT: I could also ask about the Samsung PM953, but since this has only just been announced I'll understand if it hasn't been tested yet LOL
