There is no way currently for A-Tuning to select which CPU temperature reading to use. The version of A-Tuning available is much earlier than the date of the 3.10 UEFI, which has the recent CPU temperature selection change. If or when A-Tuning will be updated in the same way, I don't know. Another thing that I think is useful is in the H/W Monitoring screen, the Fan Tuning feature (not sure if that is the correct name) that is just above the entry for FAN-Tastic Tuning. Fan Tuning runs a check on all the fans connected to configurable fan headers, finding their minimum fan speed percentage. After running this feature, it seems my fans behave better than they did before using it. That may depend upon the fans being used, particularly if they have a wider RPM range, and are PWM fans. If you run this feature, be prepared for ALL the fans connected to fan headers on the board to stop spinning completely, and then start spinning again! That will happen multiple times while this feature runs. My PC survived this fine, even using an AIO liquid cooler whose pump is connected to the board. I imagine doing a UEFI update will cause the "learning" resulting from this feature will be lost, not sure about that yet but I would not be surprised if it was. |

thankx for the reply, im using siv64x to get CPU temps, I figured out why SpeedFan wasn't working. I am using the latest a-tuning, i uninstalled and re-dl just to make sure. Is their no way to tell a-tuning what CPU temp sensor to use, as that would cause much confusion if it is getting diffrent readings than other monitoring programs.

Are you using ASRock A-Tuning utility ver:3.0.138? Which fan header(s) are you using that you get that behavior? What are you using to check the CPU temperature vs the fan speed curve you configure in A-Tuning? If you don't do this now, I would highly suggest using the fan speed configuration available in the UEFI/BIOS, H/W Monitoring screen. The CPU temperature being used for fan speed control was changed in your board's UEFI/BIOS version 3.10, and can be selected from two options for the CPU. The current A-Tuning version for your board does not use the same CPU temperature reading that is now used in the UEFI 3.10 CPU temperature reporting and fan speed control. The reading used by A-Tuning does not change much at all compared to the reading now used by default in the UEFI, which is also read by other monitoring programs. A-Tuning's fan speed control overrides that of the UEFI. Once you configure it in the UEFI, don't apply anything for fan speed control in A-Tuning, or you'll revert back to the way it behaves now. Sorry, I don't know exactly why SpeedFan no longer works with UEFI version 3.10. What "no longer works" is a vague description, please be more specific. As I said above, the changes in UEFI 3.10 for which CPU temperature is used for fan speed control are new and different, which is probably affecting SpeedFan. If a fan speed control program is not specifically programmed to work with a board and its UEFI/BIOS, the results will be random and most likely not right. There are few standards for fan speed control that are used by the PC industry. AM4/Ryzen has some unique CPU temperature reporting methods, and if SpeedFan is not updated to support them, it won't work correctly. |

Im having a problem with fan control on my ab350m board. using a-tuning the fan speed only uses the first "dot" if i set the speed at 20% at 30c and the second dot at 50% at 40c even if CPU temp over 40c fans won't speed up. Yes i know about the use cpu/mobo toggle.
also when i had AGESA 1.0.0.6a i was able to use SpeedFan to control the case fans but with the update to AGESA 1.0.0.6b i lost that ability, any idea why? |
