Thermaltake's TR2 line are not good. If memory serves they don't handle modern hardware very well, the design is older and not ideal for current gen hardware.
Before you run out and buy another one however, disconnect all your drives from the motherboard and see if you can get into the BIOS then. A faulty drive can (failing to initialize correctly) can also cause Post hangups. If you still freeze then get a decent PSU, something like a 550w or greater from a better brand (or higher end Thermaltake). Avoid the TR2 models entirely, I have seen a lot of them fail, typically just out of warranty. Antec, Seasonic, EVGA, Corsair and FSP are good options.

Obomb2000, what was the power output of your friend's supply? You may just need more power. I would suggest 600 Watts or so. Does your board have a 4-pin and 8-pin CPU power connector? If so, are both plugged with CPU, not PCIe, cables? I suggest you place your specifications in your signature as I have and include your BIOS version. Please try clearing the CMOS and see if you get further. Thanks and enjoy, John.

Hi All,
So just recently built my first gaming computer and put it together with some experienced friends. When we were finished it worked fine and there were no issues however I later came home with the PC to find out it had stopped working. The issue is that I was stuck on the splash screen of the motherboard and couldn't enter the bios with the on screen commands (keyboard would not respond). So i took it back to my friend and we found out that the power supply was the issue (He used his and when booting the computer it went straight to bios) however upon buying a new power supply, i am again stuck on the splash screen. I have tried using different keyboard and mouse and clearing the CMOS. Specs: Windows 10 OS Ryzen 3 1200 CPU ASRock AB350M Pro 4 Motherboard GEFORCE GTX 970 Graphics card G.Skill Ripjaws V (2x4gb) 2400mhzRAM Thermaltake 450W TR2 series 80 plus |
