Greetings!
I'm building a multi-seat gaming seat machine with four video cards and an HDMI capture card to split the video card output. I was looking for a motherboard that supported PCIe 5.0 switching instead of just bifurcation. There don't seem to be any add-in cards or anything on the market outside of the datacenter. Threadripper would work from a PCIe lanes perspective, but that seems like overkill. The new X670E/870E motherboards all support PCIe 5.0 x16 lane configurations which could easily by transformed to 2 PCIe 4.0 lane configurations, so I could do my PCIe 4.0 x 4 setup pretty easily if there were something like a Switchtec PFX 36xG5 integrated into the motherboard. Has ASRock ever considered adding this feature? It would allow them to create boards with lots of PCIe 4.0 slots and lanes from just the existing X670E PCIe 5.0 support. |
