Ok, I'll give more details hopefully this will help. 1) I was able to get the computer to Post and enter the BIOs one time before I ended up getting this problem. During that time I noticed that the Samsung SSD I had connected was not being detected so so I exited the BIOs and powered down to disconnect it. After this I haven't been able to get the thing to post again. 2) My PSU is a Corsair RM850x that I just got brand new. 3) None of the CPU fans turn on nor do any devices connected to the power turn on. 4) Power is connected to a surge protector. Not a high end one because I was building this on a work bench. 5) Through my trouble shooting, I pulled out the video card and attempted to run it off the onboard video only to no success. 6) I tried booting it up with only 1 memory stick but that didn't work either, the original time I got it to boot, I was using the A2 and B2 slots. 7) I didn't have the Speaker connected at first but have since put it in and no dice. 8) I tried doing a CMOS reset by jumping it and also removing the battery, no success there either. At this point I am considering testing the whole thing on a different PSU just to make sure it didn't suddenly die on me or something. I do have my older PC which is using the same case CoolerMaster HAF HB (cube) so I might just pop the board in there and see how that goes, I really don't want to do this if I don't have to. Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate the help. |

Any Sleep mode, regardless of type, ONLY occurs with Windows. Only the Windows OS can enter Sleep mode, not a mother board. I can assure you that your board is not stuck in Sleep mode. The only LED that flashes on and off during Sleep mode is the power LED on the PC case. You are confusing that description with the RGB LEDs. The RGB LEDs are purely cosmetic, and provide zero information about the operation of the board, or your memory. The slow pulsing of the LEDs is simply the default display pattern. What seems to be happening given your description is your build is failing to POST, and you get nothing on the monitor, and are unable to enter the UEFI/BIOS, is that correct? I imagine it is. FYI, the mother board is only one of the many components in a PC. Why the mother board is immediately assumed to be the source of any issue with a build, I just don't understand. No details about the build given, so I can only go over basic build procedure. Both the 24 pin ATX and 4/8 pin CPU power cables from the PSU MUST be connected to the board, or the board and CPU will not operate. When using two memory DIMMs, they must be in the A2 and B2 slots. Be sure the memory is fully seated in both DIMM slots. Is the video card fully seated in the PCIe slot, with its locking latch closed? Are all power cables to the video card connected? Do any of the fans on the CPU cooler and video card spin up? Do you have a POST beep speaker connected to the board? Did you try removing the video card and just use the Intel iGPU as a test to see if the board, CPU, and memory work fine? Is the unknown PSU (model) connected directly to a wall outlet, or a high quality surge protector? |

What's up everyone,
Basically I am having a major issue with my motherboard and I have no clue what's going on, I've been frustratingly trying everything for hours. I purchased a new build on Cyber Monday and finally got time this afternoon to try and build it. Here's my set up CPU: Intel i708700k Coffee Lake 6-Core 3.7 GHZ Motherboard: ASRock Z370 Extreme4 LGA 1151 GPU: ZOTAC GTX 1080 Mini, ZT-P10800H 16 GB Corsair DDR4 Ram 3000
I built the computer and booted it up but I haven't even been able to install Windows. I'm currently experiencing a problem where the MOBO appears to be stuck in S1/S3 sleep mode, the LED lights are pulsing slowly on/off as well as the LED lights on the Corsair RAM. From what the motherboard's manual says, this is what S1/S3 sleep mode means. I've tried to reset the bios by removing the batter and by also jumping the pins but no luck. I've run out of ideas, this is frustrating, I was looking forward to playing this new beast of a PC all weekend and it's been like 4 hours and still can't get it started. I appreciate any help or advice. |
