I will probably have to return it to them. Do you happen to know of any Canadian retailers that will ensure selling me new stock?

I just looked and it seems as though you are right, it appears to be soldered on.

pzuggler, most of these modern boards have BIOS/UEFI chips soldered not socketed. Is your's really in a socket?  Thanks and enjoy, John.

I recently purchased the ASRock ab350 pro4 motherboard from Newegg because their website specifically stated *Ryzen 2000 ready. I received the board Wednesday and built my computer but it wouldn't post. The fans and LEDs would come on for around 25s then shut off and then start up again and continue that cycle. I learned that is what happens when you don;t have the bios required for the Ryzen 2000 processors.

I then looked on the board and saw it has bios P3.20. I used the support form from ASRock to see if there's anything they could do. They sent me a form to do an RMA. I sent back the completed form and invoice via email and asked if they could just send me the updated bios chip instead. I haven;t heard back from them though and it's been over 24hrs.

This is my first build and was really hoping to be able to use it this week but i guess that won;t be happening. I know AMD offers bootkits but that's only if the manufacturer of the board can't fix it first. They require correspondence from the manufacturer as to why they can't, but I haven't heard anything from ASRock again yet.

Is there anything else I can do?!
