okay I manually set the BLCK to 100 and 125 I could get it to POST at all when set to DDR4-3000
however I have set it to DDR4-2900 and it is working fine, I think I can live that for now. |

parsec thank you for such a good response yes I see the memory type has been truncated.
CMD16GX4M4B3000C15 is the memory type Intel Core i5 6600K is the CPU, it is not overclocked. I will try flipping the BCLK Values now.

The memory model number you included in the title was partially cut off or not all entered, so we don't know exactly what Corsair 3000 DDR4 memory you are using.
The ASRock memory support list cannot include all compatible DDR4 memory types available. If Corsair states it is compatible, we'll go with that for now. DDR4 memory at a speed of 3000 and above usually needs the 125 "strap" to be used. Do you see the BCLK being set to 125MHz when you used the XMP profile? What BCLK setting did you use when you manually set the memory configuration? We have no idea what CPU you are using, and if it is over clocked. When the BCLK is set to 125MHz, that also affects the CPU speed. If your CPU has a base clock or Turbo speed of 4.0GHz at the standard 100 MHz BCLK setting, at 125MHz, the CPU speed would be 5.0GHz. Which is why the PC would not boot. |

Hey guys,
The PC fails to boot when manually setting or using XMP profile. As far as I can tell i've correctly set up the mother board and placed the memory into slots A2 & B2 as per the motherboard booklet. I notice that this memory kit is on Corsairs tested/approved memory list for ASrock z170 (as per the DDR4 thread). It does not appear on ASrocks approved list. Bios version is at 1.80 released on the 3rd of September. Under 'auto' it assumes its a DDR4-2133 1066mhz 15-15-15-36 kit that needs a voltage of 1.344 Any hints or tips greatly received to get this memory performing as it should. J |
