Dear Newregrec,
Thank you for choosing ASRock.
Z170 Extreme4's Ultra M.2 slot and PCIe slots are using different lanes, if M.2 SSD is installed, the graphics card will still work at x16 mode. The M2_1, SATA3_0, SATA3_1 and SATA_EXP_0 share lanes. If either one of them is in use, the others will be disabled. http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z170%20Extreme4/?cat=Specifications If you install a M.2 SSD, "SATA3_0, SATA3_1 and SATA_EXP_0" will be disabled.
Thank you! Yours truly, ASRock TSD Edited by ASRock_TSD - 30 Mar 2018 at 10:45am |

Hello!!! I am using ASRock z170 extreme 4 motherboard with intel i5 6600k microprocessor and 32GB RAM. Also in pcie slot 2 installed video card asus gtx 1070 and it works in 16x mode. Os Windows 10 64bit. I plan to install as a system nmve SSDs disc in port ultra m.2 - drive model PX-512M8PeY. I want to clarify, the video Card will remain 16x? Which ports and slots will be disabled or which modes will be switched? What bios settings should I pay attention to? Thank you very much for your answers.
