Yes, I did set the HD mode back to raid after I was able to start the computer back up. I do not think that any of the HDS failed, I can still see all of them in the disk management and in the BIOS as well.
I do have a separate SSD for booting and progams so I am able to use the PC currently.

I think by resetting the BIOS is seperated the RAID5, which is made up of 4 disks. When I look at Disk management I have two disks still in the RAID5 and the other two disks are outside of it. Anyway I can get them all back together?

Any tips on how to try and recover the data?

Did you go back into BIOS and set the HD mode back to RAID, it defaults to AHCI on reset.
I have not messed with raid in a few years but usually if RAID 5 fails it is due to one HD failing (causing boot failure), or the raid config getting corrupted. Usually you can recover/rebuild the raid 5 array if one HD falters but you need to know if it is an HD failure. You should check the HDs with a bootable cd/usb from the HD manufacture. The other thing is odd that it shut down after 20 secs...
Usually there is a boot failure warning or it goes straight to BIOS if no bootable device found.
Maybe someone else here has a better info

I am a bit of a rookie when it comes to RAID and I think I messed up big time.
My roommate and I built a PC with an ASROCK x99 exteme4. He installed RAID5 with 4 HDS. Recently I was having trouble getting the computer to boot. It would start for 20seconds and then turn off with no video output. Irrationally I thought I could remove the CMOS battery to reset BIOS and get the computer to boot. Which it worked but now my RAID 5 is missing. I can see all the hard drives in the BIOS and RAID Utility but the raid is not bootable.

Did I screw up an loose all of my data? I am thinking about updating the BIOS with the latest update from ASRock. I am lost, hopefully someone here can give me some guidance.
