You need to re-watch der8auer's video, as you are confused. Ryzen has always had CPU x4 PCIe 3.0 lanes dedicated to a single M.2 slot. This hasn't changed. None of the X370 or X470 boards will use GPU slot PCIe lanes for an M.2 drive in the primary M.2 slot (usually referred to as M2_1). It's only if you use the second M.2 slot on the C7H board where it would take PCIe lanes from the GPU slots. And the Taichi Ultimate board wouldn't take GPU PCIe lanes, even if you use both M.2 slots. The primary M.2 slot has dedicated x4 3.0 lanes from the CPU. The secondary M.2 slot gets its PCIe x4 2.0 lanes from the chipset.

Sorry for the bad title, I was limited by character limit and tried to fit everything that I needed to get across in there.
Question: On the x470 Asrock Taichi Ultimate, if I use the Ultra M.2 Socket (M2_1) at GEN 3 (PCIE x4) then will it take away PCIE lanes away from my graphics card (gtx 1080 ti)? I ask because I know this is what happens with the Asus Crosshair Hero VII x470 board. Getting this information from "der8auer " from youtube who went into a full review of the Asus Hero VII: https://youtu.be/S0mR4IoNWkQ?t=2m55s So will the same thing happen with the Taichi Ultimate? Using the M2_1 Slot will force my gtx 1080 ti into PCIE 3.0 @ x8 instead of x16? I would just use the M2_2 slot but that only has Gen 2 speed instead of Gen 3
