Check to make sure you replaced the clear CMOS jumper to the correct position. If it is set to the clear position the system will not respond as you described.

My computer is at least powering up now. I can't find any memory but I'll keep looking. In the meanwhile I've cleared cmos, reseated the ram and the computer still won't post no matter how long I wait.
