System
ASRock 970AG31 FX-8350 CPU EVGA GTX 1070 WD SN350 Green 1 tb. This machine is a backup computer. I recently replaced my old motherboard with an ASRock 970AG31 because it has an M.2 drive and it was a good price. Not seeing a drive at all in the M.2 slot when I go into "system browser" and when I tried to install windows 10, it also did not see it. Used an external enclosure and the computer using it saw the SN350 so does not appear to be the drive. I then tried a KXG60ZNV256G from a previous computer, a laptop that died. It booted into Windows with messed up drivers but did boot into Windows 10. I don't want to format the KXG60ZNV256G because it may still have stuff I want on the drive. Using an external enclosure, I formatted the SN350 and still does not see it. I have a few thoughts 1. I know the ASRock 970AG31 is an older board. Does it have issues with a 1 TB M.2 2. It was a "used" M.2 I got from Amazon so maybe there is an issue with that specific M.2 3. Maybe the ASRock 970AG31 just does not like the SN350 for some reason? Any thoughts? I don't want to get a different type of 1 Tb if it has issues with 1 TB M.2 drives. |

A couple of other items.
32 GB of ram, I believe of mixed types. P1.20 Bios version, which appears to be the latest version. |

An update to the issue. I returned the WD SN350 Green 1 tb to Amazon while ordering a new Crucial P3 1TB. The Crucial drive works fine.
