Hello! I have setup my system with Ubuntu 14.04. The problem is that the bluetooth doesn't work. Occasionally, after the computer has been off for a while my bluetooth adapter can see devices to pair with for about two minutes. It will be unable to pair. Then, it stops finding devices while scanning. I have tried using the built-in driver. I then built a driver using the one available from the manufacturer's website. Either way: I can't get the bluetooth to work. I know that ASRock has a bluetooth driver available for windows. Maybe linux needs a separate one, too?
hcitool does show the adapter, it's mac address, and manufacturer. Does anybody know of a different bluetooth driver or setting that will work for linux? A friend of mine suggested that perhaps the BIOS had an issue where it was allowing the bluetooth adapter to turn off for energy savings. I have combed through the utility and can't find anything enabled that would affect it. Also, the Fatal!ty Z170 gaming-ITX/ac motherboard works just peachy with Ubuntu. I did have to use puTTY to enable drivers for my NVIDIA graphics card because it was crashing at login. Works great, now! Thanks! |
