I have a system with two AMD GPUs, one in PCIe 1 and the other in PCIe 3. The GPU I want to use is in PCIe 3 but the one from PCIe 1 gets used instead. How do I change the PCIe slot that gets used for the boot?

It's been a while since I used Multi-GPU on my X399 Taichi (non-M) but I remember that it could not be configured on BIOS, nor on Windows, I read some comments saying that it is possible on Linux but I'd never try it.
By connecting the PCIe 3 GPU to the monitor, you may be able to get Windows to recognize it as primary, but you'll not see the POST screen (ASRock Logo) nor will you be able to access BIOS. In other words, there's no way to set the GPU PCIe 3 as primary during boot ... but perhaps ASRock support knows how to do it or if it's possible, try contacting them ![]() Good luck |
