Hi all, I'm looking to put together a new board featuring an X99E-ITX and a Broadwell-E processor. I understand that this requires 3.0+ BIOS version, and I don't have a previous LGA2011 proc hanging around that I could use just to update the BIOS - do these boards ship with the latest BIOS currently? If not what would be my options to get latest? Buy one and send it in to support?

You should be good to up-flash to 3.10 regardless.

Normal precautions of course.... Clear, not simply Reset, BIOS previous, and for sure after.

Use the Instant Flash method and file.

Okay, so it can get to BIOS with a Broadwell processor installed, even if that processor won't work generally?

I can tell you from first hand experience that when i received my
Fatal1ty X99X Killer/3.1 board (Bios 1.0) and tried to boot with my new I7 6900K
it locked up part way thru post and would not go any further

There is no way to update the BIOS if it doesn't fully POST
(Ver 1.0 does not support the 6900K)
Unless you can find a compatible CPU laying around you will need them to send you a new Bios chip

Sorry
