Hallo,

I plan to build a small Home-Server/NAS based upon your J3160-ITX Mainboard with CPU installed series.
Are there any mPCIe-SSD's known to work with the build in mPCIe Slot? As I won't use WIFI with this Device it would be nice to use this slot for the SSD where the OS will be installed.

Thank you for your help!

Regards...

Sorry to say, the mini-PCIe slot can only be used with WiFi cards. That is what the specifications say, in the manual, page 12, about the PCI Express slots.

My different ASRock board has the same type of mini-PCIe slot, and it can only be used with WiFi cards too.

There apparently is a limitation about the internal connection or routing of the signals from this connector, that does not allow it to be flexible in its use.

If anyone has used a mini-PCIe SSD in one of these connectors, I am not aware of it.

IF this connector could be used with a mPCIe type SSD, all of them should be able to work with it. Booting an OS from a SSD in this connector is another question, even if they could be used.
