Hey all!
Hopefully this is a quick one. Have a few USB light strips on this bad boy and they stay on when the machine is powered off. Is there any setting or jumper on this mobo that literally KILLS all power on the USB's when shut off? I looked in the BIOS and didn't find anything power related to the USB. Not interested in charging my phone or anything. When its off, I want all the USB's powered off as well. Anyone know how to accomplish that? Thanks! |

Try this: In the UEFI, Chipset Configuration screen, find the Good Night LED option, near the bottom of the screen. Set Good Night LED to Enabled. Please let us know if this works for you, as I imagine you will, if it doesn't work. ![]() |

Didn't work :(
Still powers the USB. Is there really no way to just turn the USB's off on this mobo? Seems like it can do everything in the world except turn off its USB's.... THanks |

You might be stuck with this... feature, which is considered a feature. Normally, setting Good Night LED to Disabled works with other boards. Do you have any options like the USB Power On, or USB Remote Power On options enabled in the UEFI? Do you have the AppCharger program installed? That might influence the result. I have the same board, but have never played with turning off the power to the USB ports. Does the power still work with any or all of the USB ports? Which one are you using? |

Gotcha. Yeah "feature" is a great way to put it haha
As far as I know, the good night LED thing only effects the power buttons LED and not USB. You are correct with other boards though. Like I have had USB power options in others but no such luck on this guy. Only USB 3 and 3.1 enable and disable. I tried playing with the S4 and S5 power states but they all just resulted in my having to do a clear CMOS in order for it to boot again. Thanks for the info! (wish someone from Asrock would respond here) Thanks all! |

OMG, I just saw that, you're right! ![]() At least I got it right in my last post above. ![]() Enabled, disabled, does it make a difference... OF COURSE! ![]() I have seen setting GoodNight LED to DISABLED shutting off the power to the USB ports. Even if the manual does not say so. |
