After some testing I found out, that the SSD I used (Samsung XP941) did prevent the System from using all Package-C-States.

Hi,
thank you for your response. All CPU C States and C1E are enabled and working. I tried Power Plan "Balanced" and "Power Saver". That's an actual screenshot of the machine: ![]() EDIT: Another point ist that there is no option in the BIOS to enable "Render Standby" although this option is mentioned in the manual. And there is no change in power consumption whether my display is in standby or not. Edited by craxity - 18 Sep 2016 at 9:16pm |

Do you also have, in the CPU Configuration screen, CPU C States Support and Enhanced Halt State (C1E) set to Enabled? When CPU C States Support is enabled, you should then see a list of the other C State options displayed, which must be enabled. The Package C State is a single C State that requires the other C States to be enabled. The CPU cannot enter the Package C State until all the other C States are active. The Windows Power Plan you use can affect the C State activation. Edited by parsec - 18 Sep 2016 at 8:05pm |

Hello,
I'm using an Asrock H170M Pro4 with an i7-6700 and 32 GB DDR4-2133 from Crucial as a homeserver. Although I have activated Package C-State in BIOS ThrottleStop shows, that only c2 is working. The system is freshly installed under windows 7 with the newest drivers for every component. The operating system is installed on a Samsung XP941 256GB and there are 4 hard drives. Two WD Red 2TB and two Seagate NAS HDD 3TB. Does anyone have any suggestions how to activate the other Package C-States? |
