Z790 PG Riptide won't post i9-14900KF

   I have built two identical systems:

Z790 PG Riptide (not wifi)
i9-14900KF
RTX 4000A graphics
Corsair DDR5 64GB
Sk Hynix M.2 drive
EVGA G6 850W PS

Both systems will boot with an older processor - i3-13100F.
I booted both into BIOS, updated the BIOS to 17.01 (latest).  Rebooted.  Shut down and cleared CMOS, rebooted - all good.

Both fail to post when I install the i9 processor.

When I try to power up, the fans spin up for about 1 second, the CPU light is on, and it immediately shuts down.

I believe this processor should work according to the ASROCK website.

I'm a bit stumped.

	I have the same issue. Just built a system with the Z790 Nova using the i9-14900KF CPU and it does the same thing--the computer turns on for half a second, "00" flashes on the error display, and then it shuts down. The LEDs on the board are glowing the whole time. I doubt our CPUs are bad. I don't have another LGA 1700 CPU to try (although I'd buy a known good, used older CPU just to see if that is the case). It's also a bit disturbing that after nearly a month, you've had no reply. (Did you try support directly? I haven't yet, but that's my next move.) I'm ready to drop this AsRock into the box and return it. It's the first time I've built a system in 23 years that didn't fire up immediately.

	It's very weird. I have two of the processors, and two of the boards, and they both behave the same. I also have two Gigabyte z790 Aorus Elite AX boards, and both of them show the same behavior with the 14900kf CPUs. All four boards work with the i3 processor I had. I really needed to get something going, so I bought a i9-13900kf processor, and the the one board I tried it in worked fine (one of the z790 PG Riptides). So I'm wondering if I do have two bad processors. That seems so unlikely. I've ordered up a MSI Mag z790 Tomahawk max as from what I can find it is rated as one of the best i9-14900kf boards. If this fails, I'm going to say I've somehow gotten stuck with 2 bad processors, which are now I'm sure $500 paperweights as I don't have the packaging. Yes I contacted tech support - and I got a lot of generic FAQ type suggestions that ended with "send all your stuff back and get refunds". The whole experience has been a huge and frustrating waste of time and money.

	Let us know what happens. If the new MB works, then we'll know that might be the problem. I checked NewEgg and Amazon and they have a lot of complaints about this chip. The 1-star reviews in both places are abnormally high, and while their chips worked, just about all of them complain about instability, and there was also a defect built into the chip due to overvoltage that Intel tried to fix with "microcode." Much as I dislike AMD chips (I've never used one that was 100% compatible with anything I've run--there were always issues), I might be forced to return this motherboard and the CPU and try to make an AMD system work. Next MB certainly won't be an Asrock either, and Asrock video card will be going back as well. I'm not keeping products from a company that won't support them with anything but generic, scripted answers.
