Exactly that. The Beta also adds support, possibly a more recent microcode update than 7.0. I like that ASRock has been changing the version number for CPU support significantly, the jump from 2.x to 7.x makes it clear that it is a generational support update that is or is not needed depending on if you plan to upgrade your CPU.

7.00 does indeed address Kaby Lake compatibility. Nothing more.

What is the exactly purpose of the 7.00 bios on Z170 Extreme motherboards.
It says "Update Intel Microcode". It's not for 7th GEN Kaby Lake compatibility, because I see that there is a beta 7.10 BIOS doing that. |
