First time posting, but definantly no my first build.  I was running a P8P67LE with a 2600k and an H70 push pull water cooler with an EVGA 560ti 2Gb.  The board has seen its days, so finally went to upgrading.  Bought a ASRock Z77 Ext.4 to swap it out.  Eventually will get and Ivy core for PCI-E 3.0.   Moneies tight everywhere nowadays. LOL.  Every since the build powered up I have white lines on screen.  Thinking my 560 has given up the ghost.  Was gonna try the bake trick since I got a new 1060 6Gb on the way anyways.  Rest of specs. are as follows Ultra 80+ 750w modular psu, 2 x (2x4) Corsair XMS3 modules @ 2000Mhz, 1TB 3g SATA drive for OS, 2 1TB 6g SATA for games and other whatnot.  HEHEHE.

Any comments or criticisms are welcome,  this is my third build and still have much to learn if I am to be strong with the force.

Fresh/new Windows installation for the new Z77 Ex4 board? What version of Windows? If it's the Windows installation from the P67 board, nothing more to say until you install Windows again.

Where can you even get one of those, not in production anymore. Just found some used ones on Amazon, WOW, I should sell my second one at those prices!!

So new board or used? If used, I'd try clearing the CMOS/BIOS, who knows what was in there before you got it. The PCIe slots might be set to Gen3, or it had an Ivy Bridge CPU in it before you got it. What UEFI/BIOS version is installed in the board?

If a used board, might just be bad, who knows?

I'd try removing the video card, clean out the PCIe slot you are using, and be sure the video card is seated perfectly in the slot. Quite a coincidence the video card goes bad when you move it to a new board. I doubt that is the problem.

My DVD-ROM drive I installed Win 7 64 bit from, got pretty mangled when the drive died.  Bad gouge where the eye went back and forth.  Still got my keys though. :).  Wanting to see how high I can get my SB on Z77 instaed of P67 witch it was stable with the H70 @4.8 easy.  Prob a 5.2 or 5.3 chip, good old Sandeys

It was my 560 causing me problems.  Took it out, did a fresh install again and everything works fine without it.  Amazing what a video card going bad will do to everything else.  Got a 1060 6gb otw.  P/N 06G-P4-6366-KR.  Now I can start on my OC.
