BIOS settings for reducing power consumption when CPU is near idle?
I am running an ASRock B850M Pro-A WiFi with 32 GB RAM and Ryzen 5-7600X and no additional PCI cards etc. and no overclocking. My OS is a Manjaro-Linux. When CPU is idle, this system does consume about 75 Watt. When playing a video at 1080p @50 MB/s it will consume about 95 Watts. I think, that this is a very high consumption which is not necessary for doing such "low weight" jobs. Of course, when rendering videos, I will need the full power of this machine. But rendering videos will be only about 5% of my daily work. Therefor I am looking for BIOS settings, which will enable reducing power consumption dynamically, dependent from the tasks actually running. But I could not find those settings and no hint in the BIOS manual. My question: Are there those settings? And where to find? |
