Hi everyone,

I?™m trying to troubleshoot a strange issue with multiple DeskMeet B660 units and wanted to see if anyone has run into this before.

I use the DeskMeet B660 for my business and have successfully built 18 PCs with this model. I recently purchased two more units from Newegg, and both motherboards had the exact same issue: they would not power on at all. I returned those and purchased two more from Amazon, but both of those are having the exact same issue as well. No fan spin, no fan twitch, no LEDs, and no indication that the board is attempting to start.

To troubleshoot, I moved the complete working setup from a confirmed-working DeskMeet B660 onto one of the new motherboards, including the PSU, CPU, RAM, SSD, CPU fan, and front panel power switch cable. The original motherboard powers on normally with these parts, but the new motherboard does nothing.

I have also tried the following:

* Confirmed the PSU works with a paperclip test.
* Tried multiple power cables.
* Confirmed the 24-pin motherboard power and 8-pin CPU power cables are fully seated.
* Bypassed the front power button by jumping the motherboard power pins directly.
* Verified the correct power pins using the motherboard manual.
* Tested with both 12th gen and 14th gen CPUs.
* Tried known-working RAM, including a single stick in each slot.
* Tried with and without an SSD installed.
* Inspected the CPU socket for bent or damaged pins.
* Checked for any obvious physical damage on the motherboard.

At this point, the only common failure point seems to be the new motherboards themselves. I know four bad boards sounds extremely unlikely, but the same components work immediately when moved back to the known-working DeskMeet B660 motherboard.

I reached out to ASRock support directly about a week ago but have not heard back yet, so I wanted to ask here in the meantime.

Has anyone seen a batch of DeskMeet B660 boards with a no-power issue like this, or is there something specific on these boards that could prevent any power-on response even with known-working components?

Hi bhaynswo, I find it very hard to believe that you somehow managed to get 4 new
boards from 2 separate sources that were all defective. A few things to try:

Check the Clear CMOS pins and make sure there isn't a jumper bridging them. It isn't
outside the realm of possibility that a jumper was provided to clear CMOS and was
fitted at some point before you received the parts.

Check the voltage on the CMOS batteries, I am not sure about the B660 Deskmeet
but I have seen some boards, particularly SFF boards, not power on if the battery
is dead/weak. That is another possibility if the units sat in storage a long time
before being sold.

Outside of checking for any bent over component legs on the bottom of the board
that could be shorting I can't really think of anything else to try. I assume you
are testing with the boards outside of a case with no panel headers etc connected.
