My project was to build a small eco ( low power consumption ) pc with vm-s on it for different things like: small gaming windows vm, router, nas with plex media server and a web server

This was based on the fact that the devices can be virtualized in a passthrough way.

There is only one AM1 board with low power consumption that supports IOMMU but is from MSI - found it too late.

Does anybody want my AM1B-ITX mb ? :))

Completely disappointed by the ASRock technical team reply. They sent me a screenshot with a windows guest vm hosted on vmware : ))))

Hoping for a real solution was a stupid thing to believe. I am throwing the mb in the drawer where it belongs. Going for the MSI AM1I.

Dear Szomoru,
Thanks for contacting ASRock.

For AM1B-ITX, it originally supports Microsoft® Windows® 10 64-bit / 8.1 32-bit / 8.1 64-bit / 8 32-bit / 8 64-bit / 7 32-bit / 7 64-bit / XP 32-bit / XP 64-bit.
Therefore, the AMD-Vi function is based on Windows OS.
We couldn't make sure if it can use in Linux OS.
we did the test in Windows 10 to create a virtual machine.
The virtual machine can work properly.
Please refer to the screen picture in attached file.

Thank you!

If they, CPU and MB, support virtualization in Windows then there is absolutely no reason they can't pass off to any other OS.

Hint: Good luck with that MSI Am1l
