J3455M powering on-off-on before booting

   Yes it is a bit old but was actually rarely used all these years so I was hoping I could use it. It is ATX 2.31.Thank you for the suggestion, I have a newer EVGA 500B I can swap in and see if that solves the problem. I'm wondering though if others that had similar problems with their Asrock Apollo Lake motherboards were also using an older PSU. Anyway I'll find out I guess if it is indeed a PSU incompatibility or not and I'll reply here with my findings.

	Phew. That PSU dates back some time huh? If I were you I'd swap in a "newer' and capable PSU to test. I'm guessing you got your mileage out of that one.

	@wardog Thanks for replying. It is a new build. All the other components were taken from other working PCs I had. RAM: G.Skill Sniper F3-1866C10D-16GSR 2x8GB PSU: Coolermaster RS400-PSAPI3 HDD: doesn't really matter as the problem exists even without any disk connected Case: Fractal Core 1000 I should also mention that I tried all the settings in the BIOS regarding CPU power states and adjusting the RAM speed. I have also tried booting into Windows 10 and once it boots it seems to be running fine. I only had problems with some Linux distros that either refused to install (freezing during installation) or the installation and boot was taking forever but I think that may have to do with the CPU (and platform) being too new and perhaps unsupported yet.

	Please list out the components that make up your computer, by make and full model number. Is this a new build? Or one that's been running fine and only now doing this?

	I have the J3455M motherboard and when I press the power button to turn the PC on, the board will power on, then off (and sometimes off and on again) before finally booting. This happens when: 1. I power it on after the power has been completely cut off from the psu 2. I make a change in the BIOS and save 3. I force the PC to shutdown by holding the power button This wouldn't have been much of an issue if the hard disks did not power on and off as well. But I'm sure that this powering on and off is not good for them because the power goes off right after they start spinning. Does anyone else have the same problem with J3455M? I have noticed another post about a different motherboard but not this one. Is this normal or is my motherboard defective? I have already sent two emails to Asrock tech support and I'm still waiting for a reply.
