Hello All,

I've had this computer built for about 3 years with little issue.  All of a sudden, it will start beeping continuously for about 1 minute.   It will do it randomly.   It might happen 1 time in a 24 hour period, or a few times.

I can't find anything in the manual about, or if it exists, I don't know what I am looking for (there are only 2 references to "beep" in the manual, and nothing in the errors section describes this issue..

Computer boots fine, runs fine, and when it's beeping - i don't see any weird temperatures or any lights flashing.  Nothing seems to break when it's happening and computer performance seems the same throughout.

it's just really loud and long, which is telling me something is wrong, but I have no clue as to what it means or the best way to troubleshoot since it's not something consistant - like happening on bootup, etc.

I have a video of what the beeps sounds like:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGXwFxNw_ck&feature=youtu.be

I figured people here would be smarter than me on this issue.

These are my computer specs:
  • Rosewill Full Tower Gaming Computer Case
  • ASRock Z97 Extreme6 LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
  • GeForce GTX 970 4GB G1 GAMING OC EDITION

First of all, do you have a POST beep speaker connected to the POST beep speaker header on the board, and have the POST beep option enabled in the UEFI/BIOS?

Unless you have done both of the above things, the beeping is not coming from the board itself. The board does not have a built in POST beep speaker.

If you did have both of the things I listed above done, you would hear a single POST Ok beep each time you start or restart the PC, and it boots fine.

It is not normal at all for a mother board to issue beeps via the POST beep speaker after the PC is running the OS. But that might be a sign something happened to the board, or a component connected to the board is causing a strange problem.

But at this point we don't know if you even have a POST beep speaker connected to the board, and if the POST beep option is enabled in the UEFI/BIOS (it is disabled by default).
