only in new bios come with 1.0.0.6a, they use Tctl as default. but the fan will keep spinning up and down even on light usage. as the temperature is fluctuate. a common behavior for ryzen lol. all previous bios is using CPU socket sensor if i am not wrong. |

Hi,
About fans, seems like the new UEFI version senses Tctl, while the old versions sense socket temp. I prefer this new method, because before, the fan reacted a little too later when constant load and needed the socket temp to slowly raise to start spinning at the desired speed. Now, if they can include a temp hysteresis (as MSI Afterburner did on their GPU app) the fan will not speed up on spikes, but only under real and constant load on the CPU. I'm out of luck with my 3200 Gskill. The new UEFI version has zero improvements on my memory speed. I'm still at 2800 CL14 :-(( |

Hello All
I hope you are all doing well. With BIOS version 3.00 I can now get my 32GB (4*8GB) GSKIL F4-3600C17 runnning at 1666MHz (3333) stable with stock volts running at CL18. Sadly, it's totally messed up the working of the fans, I tried using BIOS only, F-Stream, no matter what I try the fans do not spin up as the CPU gets hotter when using wPrime. It used to work fine in the previous BIOS with my PWM Noctua fans. I have an 1800x. The biggest annoyance with this board (Fatality Gaming Pro) is that I cannot reboot otherwise my Toshiba M.2 RD400 SSD goes missing from the BIOS and I have to clear CMOS to get it back. There are many others affected by this what seems to be a BIOS bug. It's blumin' annoying and hope ASrock fix this asap. Cheers. |

I think most of us are in the same boat with random issues and bugs. The biggest issue is that the AGESA code makes up the core of the UEFI. That would be fine if AGESA was locked down and stable already but it isn't and it keeps getting updated. This means it's all but impossible to address bugs, if the BIOS department is all occupied writing the next update to include X or Y new AGESA code then fixing bugs that will probably just be broken in the next update again becomes a nightmare to navigate. Is the bug caused by their code or the AGESA code? I predict we will all be suffering through these teething problems for some time yet. I don't think any manufacturer is coming out of this unscathed. The "best AM4 motherboard" to buy changes with every UEFI update as things are fixed and broken At least the platform is worth it, Ryzen is here to stay and it will be brilliant once all the kinks are worked out. I know ASRock is working hard on these issues and I also know that they are monitoring threads like these so thank you all for sharing. The more info we have here the better ASRock will be able to help us

I can't wait this bios get released for the Killer SLI because I got an issue and hope it gets fixed with it I get microstuttering on Black Desert Online with my gtx 1080 when I set more than 2933 MHz ram speed even when I get up to 3334 MHz stable and pass the tests

I hear what you are saying and appreciate the feedback. I just love having 8 cores, at present running at 3.8Ghz, with a processor using the same TDP as my overclocked quad Sandy Bridge. Ryzen 1700x/1800x with it's 95W TDP is just insane. It really makes it worthwhile upgrading from quad to a octo, when you know you get twice the core count at the same TDP. Love it. |

Finally with the last bios I managed to pull the ram as it should ... now boot with the xmp profile (at 3200mhz but is unstable) so it is a matter of setting the timings well. Today I did the tests at 3066mhz, as soon as I try the 3200mhz :)
Here is the 3066mhz ram soc_voltage 1.1v (LLC level 3 with asrock) I had to bring the ram to 1.4v to keep them stable with these timings ... already if I lowered to 1.37v I gave instability, while with 1.4v I did various run with ibt very high all stable ... screenshot here.
