It's important to know which board you have, so I assume it is the Fatal1ty Z170 Gaming K6+? Next important question, what is the exact model number of the CPU you are using? Some of the processors you can use with your board need a certain UEFI/BIOS version. |

Yes im using that board. My cpu is a i76700k. I have never oced it. I should mention the board has been running fine for 6 months or so with the occasional 1e error.

Have you done a clear CMOS/BIOS lately? If not, please do that.
Actually, you should try removing the battery from the board while you also do a clear CMOS with the board's jumper. A AMI UEFI POST code of dd is not commonly listed, as you know. The best I came up with is this for dd: Control to shadow RAM at F000:F000 I'm interpreting this as related to the internal memory in the UEFI/BIOS chip, and removing the battery clears that memory. Are you sure that the code is dd? 1e is a DRAM memory error. |

A bad battery is possible, and can cause weird side affects. Although I've never seen a POST failure due to a battery, but who knows? The battery is a CR2032, very common, ~$2 +/-. |
